Tanya is a supporting character in Snowpiercer. She is portrayed by Octavia Spencer.

Tanya is one of the Tail passenger. She has a son, Tim.
Throughout the film[edit | edit source]
She tried her best to hide her son, Tim, when Claude announced that she wants small children from the Tail section. When Tim was finally taken, Tanya was devastated and determined to aid Curtis' revolution.
She fight alongside the Tail passenger to Yekaterina Bridge. Then she went along Curtis, Minsoo, Yona, Andrew and Edgar through the classroom, where she nervously asked about her and Andrew's son.
When the group proceeds through luxurious cars and to the sauna, she got shot by Franco the Elder and died. Before she died she made Curtis promise that he would protect Tim at all cost. Curtis would keep the promise till his death.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Tanya is a determined mother who is set on getting her son back. Despite not possessing the qualities of a fighter, she nonetheless takes part in the rebellion and speaks for the people of the tail section.
