The Hospitality Department is responsible for smooth relations onboard Snowpiercer.
History
When Snowpiercer departed, Melanie Cavill was the head of Hospitality. After being overthrown in Season 1, she is replaced by Ruth Wardell, who is then fired by Wilford and the role is given to Kevin McMahon until his death.
There are also many apprentice hospitality members, which Kevin was originally, before being promoted on Big Alice.
The Head of Hospitality uniform is either a higher-cut teal jacket with a matching skirt for women, or a full teal suit for men. Lower rank hospitality members wear either a low-cut teal jacket with matching pants for women or a gray suit with teal striped tie for men.
New Year Celebration Protocol Manual
Members of Hospitality often mention protocol manuals, and one specifically for New Years celebrations is in one of the drawers in the Hospitality Office.

“
Despite your violence yesterday, and grave hand of fate hanging over our heads this very second, Mr. Wilford believes that children deserve an education in skilled or unskilled labor, and so we are proceeding with apprenticeship selection. The names are as follows. Mikala Mwanza...Mia Kaisheck...and the boy they call Miles and Miles. Should your families choose to accept his invitation, you have one hour to get ready for your new lives uptrain.

We all know it’s been a tough 48 hours. It seems the events have been on Mr. Wilford’s mine as well. He’s written a personal message for us all. To my loyal and trusted crew, without whom this mission could never succeed. In this time of adversity, I ask you, the lead stewards of humanity, to remain unshaken in spirit and resolve, as you’ve done so nobly these past seven years. By your steady hand, we will ride out this hardship, and outlive the ice. Bound by our cause and our need.
