History[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Throughout The Series[edit | edit source]

Season 1[edit | edit source]

In First, the Weather Changed, he is seen sick and was laying on the bed with Lights taking care of him. Josie gave him some of her rations.

In Prepare to Brace, he is one of the Tailies taken to work uptrain.

In Access Is Power, he is seen sitting with Josie and probably was talking with her. When a Jackboot called her name, John seemed worried about her.

Helping the revolution[edit | edit source]

When he and the others walks back to the Tail from labor he discovers a sign, a circle with a black triangle in it on the ground knowing it's a message. He then saw Layton come out and noticed the piece of clothing on the floor on, which Layton drew the Brakeman's Garrison and other cars he was in. He tried to pick it up, but couldn't.

He wanted to be implanted with the Access Chip that Layton gave Josie to go up train a try to make contact with Astrid. But Josie told him that she has a better chance of blending in uptrain as a woman.

When Josie was being taken by Melanie uptrain to interrogate, he wanted to fight but the other Tailies hold him to calm him down.

Death[edit | edit source]

He was in Layton's revolution plan. Astrid meet up with him and assigned Jakes Carter to go down to the Sub-Train with Big John. Jakes insults Big John when he coughs hardly if that they are the best Tailies. Astrid reminded him that they are on the same side. Jakes would then shake his hand with Big John. Later they would bravely hold off the Jackboots led by Lieutenant Gardiner down in the Sub-Train. Jakes gives them signals while Big John fires the weapon. After running out of ammo, Big John holds off the Jackboots while the machine and Jakes Carter are moving to the next barricade, killing 2. He is then axed to death by the enemy soldiers. Jakes later told Layton about Big John's death. Leaving Layton in shock.
