The Docking Car is a purpose made, one of a kind car intended for the tail of Snowpiercer.

History

The docking car has been used as part of the tail, and thus Tailies have slept here, cramped up and in squalor. After the rebellion, the Supply Train Big Alice raced after Snowpiercer and docked with the last car of the train, taking control and stopping the train for the first time since it's departure from Chicago in 2014. After Wilford attempted to disconnect Big Alice, the bomb that Melanie placed exploded, destroying the connecting mechanism of Big Alice's Docking car, Snowpiercer's docking car becoming a border due to this.

Technology

The docking car is designed to connect with the docking car of the resupply train Big Alice. Big Alice uses eight grappling arms to attach itself onto the docking car's hull. There also exists a data port link that can be accessed from the connecting Docking car.[1]

Interior

The interior of the Docking Car does not differ from previous Cargo Cars except for a big round door at the tail of the car[2]. The Tailes put a large round table near the door and use the end as a "conference room". An extremely small tiny hole (baby hand size with a metal cover) also exists, which is used by the Talies to see the outside to determine their position or to create a makeshift cinema projector using the hole.

Trivia

  • Presumably, before Snowpiercer departed, the door was welded shut and required Big Alice to cut its way through. Or because of the brackets riveted on the door, 3 on the top and bottom.
  • The door is much like a vault door of a bank, it was secured with numerous massive metal bolts (cylinders) extending from the door into the surrounding frame. Holding those bolts in place is some sort of lock.
  • The lock in the center of the door rotates counterclockwise. However, because Big Alice cut through the bolts, the lock in the door is useless.
  • As the interior is exactly the same as the rest of the Tailies Cargo Cars, it's impossible to pinpoint the exact number of episodes this car was featured in.
