In These Are His Revolutions, Gardiner reported to Nolan Grey in the Sub-Train. They both lead the Jackboots to wipe the Tailies army out. Gardiner's squad would deal with Jakes Carter and Big John's group in the Sub-Train while Commander Grey fights Layton's main army at Night Car.
In The Train Demanded Blood, Gardiner and Grey is seen discussing plans while other Jackboots are working.
