
Snowpiercer: The Escape is the first graphic novel in the Snowpiercer series written by Jaques Lob and illustrated by Jean-Marc Rochette in 1982.
History
The graphic novel was created in France and was named Le Transperceneige and was later translated to english and became inspiration for both the movie and the series.
Story
The story is about a man named Proloff who boarded a 1001 car train named Snowpiercer to survive a second ice age. He lives the years on the train in a cargo deck known as the tail and is quarantined after breaking through some cars when he is joined by a woman named Adeline Bellau who is apart of a movement to integrate the people from the tail, both eventually meet Colonel Krimson who was passing through different cars of the train. Soon a virus from Proloff begins to spread and infects everyone and the train but the healthy run up-train. Before reaching the engine Proloff begins to shoot the final car for unknown reasons, Adeline eventually dies because of the cold snow while Proloff is then rescued by the trains engineer Alec Forrester and as they are talking they detach the tail from the train and Alec says that Proloff needs to take care of the engine. Proloff looks at the engines cameras and sees that everyone on board the train is dead and is left alone in the engine.

- The engine is nicknamed Olga by Alec Forrester.
