Intro

I’ve been here before. Where memories turn on to you. Even the good ones. (…) Wilford said, “The weakest are those who suffer from memories.” “The strongest carry the past like fuel to ignite a path forward.” He wasn’t wrong. (…) My continuous inescapable loop. Our past and future bound by one track, under the wheels of Snowpiercer, 1,029 cars long.

Trivia

  • The title of the episode is a line in Alexandra Cavill's opening dialogue.
  • Melanie Cavill appears for the first time in Season 3, albeit in the form of a hallucination/visualisation of Alex's inner thoughts.
  • The trains are now less than two weeks away from the Horn of Africa.
  • Both of the Last Australian's died of influenza while Layton was away, as did Mama Grandé.
  • Big Alice was originally 43 cars long before Wilford detached 3 cars during the first year. The cars contain the bodies of those that Wilford had culled for resources which Alex had previously mentioned happening in The Show Must Go On.
  • Layton mentions cows being extinct, something that had occurred in Prepare to Brace.
  • Doctor Pelton discovers that the Headwoods were performing gene therapy on Layton and Zarah's baby, some of which was also used on Josie Wellstead for cold treatment. Mrs. Headwood admits that Wilford had them experiment on the baby with enhanced genetic cold treatment and calls them a gift as her treatments are going to work.
    • Zarah is revealed to have consented to the treatment, much to Layton's fury.
  • A romance begins developing between Ruth and Pike.
  • Pike owns a Pied-a-terre in the Market.
  • Javi is shown to still be suffering from PTSD due to his experiences with Wilford while the Pirate train was away. This includes hallucinations of Jupiter. At the end of the episode, he is once again wearing his parka even though it's no longer necessary.
  • First class is now opened again after the trains have reconnected, and full energy is avalible from both engines on Snowpiercer and Big Alice.
  • Snowpiercer is seen going in reverse for the first time.
