Asha is a main character on TNT's Snowpiercer, introduced in Season Three. She is portrayed by Archie Panjabi.
Throughout the series
Asha was a part of a group of 34 workers in a nuclear plant in North Korea, who initally survived the beginning of The Freeze, by living of the heat from the nuclear reactor. When time pass the group were attacked by maraduers, who killed almost half of the group members. Then the maraduers themsleves died off. The high radiation levels in the plant caused radiation poisoning with many of the group members, and the cold evenutally made living conditions even harder. At last, only Asha and her 15-year old nephew remained alive. However, he had bcome sick with thyroid cancer, leading to him begging Asha to kill him because of the pain. After a mercy kill, Asha remained the only survivor for four years until Layton found her in the nuclear plant.
