Unlike onboard Snowpiercer, the crew of Big Alice had to sleep inside makeshift racks. Each crewmember had a rack assigned to them and they could customize them as they saw fit[1].
History
All passengers on Big Alice lived in these cars until Season 3, where some of them most likely moved onto Snowpiercer for work. During Wilford's cull, at least one of the living quarters cars were uncoupled while its occupants were asleep and everyone inside froze to death, including Alex's friend Shilo.
