History

The library car presumably existed before the Freeze, as a place for first class passengers to have access to lots of reading material.

Technology

The library has a secret storage compartment behind one of the shelves, by the tables, which contain cigars and alcohol. There is also a phone on the second floor for communicating with the engine.

Interior

The library's interior is similar to other first class cars, with lots of lavish wood paneling similar to the hospitality office. There is a colorful skylight detailed with a large hanging Earth sculpture, and a cage that exists for presumably restricted material. There is also a spiral staircase that leads to the top floor which looks down into the first and also contains a raised up observation room for observing the surroundings outside the train.

Trivia

• While being all the way in the front of the train (which is shown frequently), the exterior of the library car had not been shown until Season 3.
• Wilford was kept here as a prisoner for most of season 3.
• There is a photo on the top floor containing the Engine in multiple design variants.
• There is a cage on the first floor for unknown reasons that was used as Audrey's jail cell on the pirate train.
