The fourth season of TNT's dystopian thriller television drama series Snowpiercer was announced on July 29, 2021,[1] as the third season wraps up filming. Daveed Diggs made the renewal announcement on the set of the show at the tail end of production. Season 4 was announced to be the final season. Paul Zbyszewski took over as showrunner for the production. The first teaser trailer of the season was posted to Vimeo on October 24th, 2022.
However, in January 2023 TNT revealed they won't be airing the last season, leaving the show de facto cancelled. This came at the same time numerous other shows under the company umbrella of Warner Bros. Discovery were cancelled, scrapped, un-renewed or removed from streaming services.[2] It has also been revealed that they are currently shopping the final season for other networks, although none have been confirmed to take it on so far.
