Protein Bars are rectangular bars of sustenance commonly used as food throughout the Tail of Snowpiercer; the bars are commonly rationed in an effort to make them last. The bars are delivered to the Tail by Brakemen[1], but Tailies are free to use them as they please; including stockpiling.
History
Little is known about their history, other than at some point, the Tail began stockpiling protein bars as a fail-safe in the event that those up train cut of their supplies. They later began rationing the bars when their supply was cut numerous times over the years.
