Astrid is a recurring character on TNT's Snowpiercer. She is portrayed by Jane McGregor.

History[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Astrid was originally a Tailie, but was chosen for apprenticeship years ago. She has been without contact with the Tail Section for two years, but recent events renewed her collaboration with the Tailies.

Throughout The Series[edit | edit source]

Season 1[edit | edit source]

Helping the revolution[edit | edit source]

Josie approaches her on her break and she reveals to Josie that Layton is up Train to solve the murder of Sean Wise. Josie askes her to make contact with him. She starts to worry because she can be caught, but Josie tells her that the Tail needs her. Then she gives her food to Josie. Later that day she sends a message to Josie that Layton is missing.

On the day of the Trial she exchanges labor with Josie and tells her that the janitors can help with finding Layton. She was one of the key people Miss Audrey trusts. In the meeting, we see that she want the same what Layton wants for the whole Train.

Season 3[edit | edit source]

After Layton retakes the train, Astrid is promoted to head of Food Services and attends a meeting where she questions Asha about New Eden.[1]

After Pike tries to kill Layton, Astrid takes part in the meeting where Layton seeks the Tailies help to find him. Astrid is shocked by Pike's actions and has a hard time believing it. She later takes part in the Tailie ritual where Layton and Pike try to settle their differences before fighting to the death, ending in Layton killing Pike.[2]

Along with the rest of the Tailies, Astrid chooses to join Big Alice in making the trip to New Eden.[3]
