Wilford’s Rolling Gulag was created after the separation of the '''[[Pirate Train]]'''.

It then came to be considered both ''Big Alice'' and ''Snowpiercer'', while ''Snowpiercer'' was the Pirate Train alone.

==History==
With both ''Snowpiercer'' and ''[[Big Alice]]'' under Wilford's full control, Alexandra Cavill proposed disconnecting the first ten cars of ''Snowpiercer'' in order to create a separate Pirate Train to go after [[Melanie Cavill|her mother]]. The remaining cars (most of Snowpiercer without it's engine and Big Alice) were left behind.

==Throughout the Series==
1023 Cars Long, a "rolling gulag" under Wilford's rule, with First Class decommissioned for the time being and everyone forced to work. Due to ''Big Alice'' powering the two trains alone, the passengers were forced to live in sub-zero temperatures with low power. However, Wilford chose not to go through with a culling due to Layton having Miss Audrey as a hostage. In Layton's absence, a secret resistance against Wilford continued to operate, now under the leadership of Ruth Wardell who foiled a plot by Wilford to use an EMP weapon to disable the Pirate Train upon its return.

==Trivia== 
*In Layton's absence, Ruth had taken up his role as leader of the resistance on ''Snowpiercer''. She also appeared to have no hard feelings over being left behind, presumably understanding what had happened and she held faith in Layton's eventual return.
*43 people of one or both trains died in their sleep because of the cold, without Snowpiercer’s Engine. Deaths included are [[Murray]], [[Emilia]], [[Mama Grandé]] and [[Mr. Headwood]].
*More power was diverted to [[Agricultural Section|Ag-Sec]] and the [[Night Car]], then other cars during the Pirate Train's absence, in order to keep the plants and animals alive, and the Night Car warm.
*[[Zarah Ferami|Zarah]] suggested cutting First Class to save power, but Wilford refused.
*First Class was too frozen for the [[Sub-Train]].
*After the train's separated, Wilford followed their trail trying to guess intentions, near term destinations versus long term trajectory. Wilford knew he couldn't catch them and had to intercept.
