==Plot== Back in the present, Till reflects on the previous night on Snowpiercer in which a riot killed six Breachmen. Till becomes increasingly concerned over the lack of control on Snowpiercer and the increasing violence partaking since Wilford's return. Further tensions rise when Bojan begins to blame the Tailies for the crimes, with both Till and Layton adamant that the Tail was not responsible for the murders. Till begins exploring, and asks LJ and Osweiller about the murders, both LJ is reluctant to provide any information. Osweiller, however, agrees to take Till to an antique dealer that may have some idea about the mysterious "W" logo found at the scene. Meanwhile aboard Snowpiercer, the Engine has trouble contacting Big Alice, and the team become worried that Miss Audrey has defected given she did not return past curfew. Finally, Bennett is able to make contact with Big Alice's engine, and when Layton asks if Miss Audrey is returning, she tells him that she is busy; Mr. Wilford tells Audrey that her performance was not good enough, but Layton and the others remark that they can no longer trust Audrey. As Alex settles to eat dinner, she receives questions about what is happening aboard Snowpiercer and whether it is their doing or not; Alex is unable to provide answers, however. Upon questioning Sykes about who is responsible, Sykes tells her that if Wilford didn't tell her she is not meant to know. This causes doubt in Alex's mind about her relationship with Wilford. Meanwhile, a fight erupts on Snowpiercer between Boscovic and the Tailies, with Boscovic convinced that they were responsible for the murder of the eight Breachmen. Roche and Ruth talk, and Ruth explains that Wilford asked her to step onto Big Alice and join him, but that she serves Snowpiercer, just like him. With this, she reflects on the seven years of peace they had under Melanie's control, but Roche remarks that they cannot go back to victimising the Tail. Osweiller takes Till to see Katya, a dealer in antiques aboard Snowpiercer. She shows Katya the "W" button, and Katya tells her that the button comes from a jacket; with this her grandson, Elan, explains that Katya and Wilford were neighbours, therefore are extremely close. Till questions the trade of a jacket with the buttons on for a fur hat, and Elan describes the woman Katya traded with as being tall and a member of First. Layton makes an announcement to all of the passengers aboard Snowpiercer in which he defends the Tail, whilst also supporting the mourning of the eight Breachmen. Whilst he understands the pain and the loss, he explains to Ruth and Zarah that he must always protect the Tail, now more than ever given they have no voice. Ruth rebukes him, citing that his announcement will not be received the way he intends. Aboard Big Alice, Wilford and Miss Audrey talk, with Wilford questioning why Audrey stayed behind. He shows her the screwdriver she brought from Snowpiercer, asking what it is for, but Audrey remarks that he already knows. When Wilford asks if it is to switch the communication lines and allow Snowpiercer to listen in, she confirms, but remarks that she stayed behind due to their connection and not to complete the mission. With this, Wilford takes her to a secluded room and explains that she must prove herself like anyone else. Entering the room, Audrey finds a frightened and regressed Kevin, seemingly not dead. Wilford orders Audrey to "fix" him, and leaves the room. Alex confronts Wilford in Big Alice's Engine, questioning why he has been shutting her out and hiding things from her. He remarks that he knows how close she has gotten with Melanie, including taking her into the barracks, and that she now must prove to him why he saved her. Wilford tells her that she will do well to remember that each day she lives is a gift from him, but Alex becomes increasingly annoyed that she must chose between Melanie and Wilford. Nonetheless, it is a decision Wilford is forcing her to make. Back on Big Alice, Miss Audrey talks with Kevin and, when she realises that he has been taken to the bath tub in a similar manor to her, she remarks that Wilford must care about him deeply. With this, she shuts out the lights in the room and tells Kevin to stop shouting, that she will help him through the experience. Miss Audrey shows Kevin the scars along her forearm from her experience, and this is enough to calm Kevin a little. Meanwhile, Till confronts Eugenia at a table in First. She brings Layton and Roche along, and the three question her, but she is reluctant to accept responsibility or blame for the deceased Breachmen. When Till points to a bruise on her face, caused by Cherry, the three finally realise that she is to blame. Eugenia is reluctant to give Till any details about who is orchestrating the uprising, however, and remarks that Till is in too deep As the rioting aboard Snowpiercer intensifies, passengers find themselves scrambling for shelter wherever possible. Doctor Pelton begins bringing people into the infirmary and offering them shelter from the violence outside. Zarah and Ruth find themselves seeking shelter but are surprised to see a collection of Tailies in the room. Ruth tells Zarah to call for an escort, but Tristan makes it clear that an escort is not possible due to the violence directed towards the Tail. Struggling to formulate a solution, situations become worse when Winnie grows increasingly hostile towards Ruth, having remembered Ruth as the member of hospitality that took her mother, Suzanne's arm which led to her death. After Winnie goes missing, Ruth finds herself thrust into the violence as she volunteers to look for Winnie. Winnie is eventually found in the observatory, and Ruth apologises sincerely for her part in Suzanne's death, explaining that she too lost her mother young and that things do get better. With this, Ruth returns Winnie to Lights and the others hiding in the infirmary. Till finally finds herself able to unravel the mystery surrounding the murders of the Breachmen and comes to the conclusion that Pastor Logan is directly orchestrating the crimes with Eugenia helping. She and Layton plan to take down Logan, but Layton finds himself distracted when it is revealed that a Tailie, Pike, has been taken hostage by the rioters and is being attacked as they speak; Till urges Layton to save his friend, remarking that she can take care of Logan. Aboard Big Alice, Miss Audrey is making progress with Kevin, and is able to convince him that Wilford is the best thing that ever happened to him, thereby renewing the loyalty he feels for Wilford and calming his behaviour. Audrey takes Kevin to see Wilford, ordering him to lick Joseph's slipper and, when he does, Audrey is seen to have proven herself to Wilford, and he welcomes her back to his side. Till tracks down Pastor Logan and confronts him about the murder of the eight Breachmen, and Logan accepts responsibility for the crimes, citing that those eight deaths signify a price well paid for peace aboard the trains. Till rebukes him, however, and the two begin fighting but are interrupted when a second assailant enters the room and attacks Till. During the onslaught of their fighting, Pastor Logan retrieves a bag which he places upon his head and exposes to the Freeze β similar in a way to the barbaric nature of Suzanne's lost arm β but he is interrupted by Till before he is able to completely freeze himself. Nevertheless, Logan doesn't survive. In the Tail, however, Pike is about to have his arm frozen by the rioters but is interrupted by Layton and Ruth, both of whom advocate against the punishment. With no end in sight, Layton offers up his arm, but Ruth rebukes the rioters, citing that this is not the way, nor will they feel gratified at the end; she is speaking from personal experience. The rioters let Layton go following this and the violence ends. Meanwhile, as Snowpiercer passes through the cork screw, Wilford calls Alex to the Engine where they witness the residents of Snowpiercer choosing sides. Each cart that lights a red lantern is said to welcome Wilford's lead. With this, it becomes clear that the majority of Snowpiercer welcomes Wilford and Layton realises that his grasp on Snowpiercer is slipping while Roche is shown to be unsure whether or not to join them in lighting his family's lantern. Wilford, however, welcomes the event and tells Sykes to ready Icy Bob and that it "is time".
